Steve Schnider

CFSP & Funeral Director

Steve began his career in funeral service in 1977 in Boise, Idaho. He obtained his Mortuary Science degree from Mt. Hood Community College in Oregon. Steve worked at and managed several different funeral homes including O’Connor Funeral Home and Chapel of Chimes in Great Falls during the 80’s and 90’s. He left Great Falls to work for Fulkerson Funeral Home in Williston, N.D. prior to starting Schnider Funeral Home in 2001. He holds his Morticians License in Montana, North Dakota and Idaho.

With a passion for his Plymouth and Dodge muscle cars, Steve spends much of his spare time in the shop working on his latest project. He enjoys playing golf, he likes to get his wife out on the greens. An active member of the community, Steve is part of the local Rotary Club and Knights of Columbus. He is thrilled to have all three of his children and four grandchildren reside here in Great Falls.

Tim Hueth

Manager, Funeral Director

Tim was born and raised in Great Falls. After graduating from high school in Fairfield he attended the University of Montana where he graduated with a degree in Business Management. He would spend 20+ years in retail management between Target, Shopko, Staples and Herbergers. Changing careers at that point he chose a career in Mortuary Science. After receiving his degree in this field from Arapahoe Community College Tim joined the funeral director team at Schnider and O’Connor Funeral Home.

Tim and his wife Sabrina, who is a nurse, have four children and one granddaughter. Their daughter Tanealya is very active in Special Olympics. Their daughter Taylor is married (Chad) and they have a daughter Elsie. Their son Riley is in the process of becoming an electrician. Their son Aiden is a recent graduate of high school and is attending college to pursue a career in film.

Tim and Sabrina’s family are avid fly fisher’s and have a passion for the outdoors including paddle boarding, ice skating and hiking the many trails in our wonderful state.

Todd Carmichael

Funeral Director

A retired U.S. Army Reservist of 26 years, Todd received an Economics degree from Kearney State College before completing his Mortuary Science degree at Kansas City Kansas Community College in 1991. After working as a funeral director in multiple locations, Todd and his wife Michelle and their two sons settled in Great Falls in 1997 where he has been serving the community ever since.

Nebraska native, Todd is a loyal Huskers fan who proudly displays the school’s “N” on his truck, screen saver and coffee mug. In his spare time he enjoys riding his motorcycle and making Adirondack furniture. He has been a member of the Great Falls Lions Club since 2000 and is happy to organize their Family Fun Fest each year.

Scott Dyer

Funeral Director

Scott is a country boy at heart, originally born in Tennessee he has lived in Kansas, Arizona, Utah and now Montana. While in Arizona, he completed the Mortuary Science Program from Mesa Community College and became a licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer and Cremationist in Payson, Arizona.

His career path took him to Utah, where he simultaneously managed funeral homes in Salt Lake City and in Bountiful. Ultimately, Scott and his wife of almost 25 years, Colleen decided that it was time for an adventure. They saw that the Schnider family was looking for a director and checked out the town and the people and in less than 24 hours, fell in love with the town and decided to move to Great Falls.

Previously, Scott had been very involved with the Rotary Club and was the Past-President of the Rotary Club of Payson, Arizona. Scott is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in his spare time, he enjoys fishing, target shooting, camping and grilling.

Dave Montgomery

Funeral Director

Dave joined our funeral director team in 2016. Dave was born and raised in Billings. He came to Great Falls in 1986 and regrets never seeing the smoke stack as a Great Falls citizen.

For almost 30 years Dave created TV commercials and other video projects. After talking to family members while creating memory videos, he decided to go back to school and become a funeral director.

Dave lived in Black Eagle for 30 years where he was a volunteer fireman for over 15 years. He has also been president of the Black Eagle Civic Club. He is a proud Freemason and was president of the Great Falls Scottish Rite. Dave currently lives on the road to Vaughn with 12 chickens, 2 dogs, and his girlfriend, Anna.

Paul Alt Jr

Funeral Director

Paul joined our team and began his funeral career with us in 2021 after graduating from American Academy McAllister Institute in 2019 with a degree in Funeral Service.

Originally from Westport Wisconsin, Paul has been a member of our Great Falls community for more than 20 years. Along with care and compassion for our community members, he also brings his Midwest charm, a love of Wisconsin sports, brats, cheese and Kringle.

In addition to serving our community, Paul was honored to serve our country for nearly a decade of active duty in the U.S. Air Force. If you see Paul out in the community he’s most likely at a fundraiser with his wife Kelle or attending a sporting event.

Rick Walter

Funeral Director

Rick was born and raised in Butte, MT. He graduated from the University of Montana – Western with a Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education. In 1998 Rick joined the staff at a local Butte funeral home. In 2001 he received his Mortuary Science Degree from Mt. Hood Community College in Portland, Oregon.

Rick moved to Great Falls and worked at Schnider and O’Connor Funeral Homes. Rick, moved to Missoula in 2010 where he worked at Sunset Memorial Gardens funeral home. In 2017 Rick moved back to Great Falls to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

In his spare time Rick enjoys reading and collecting books, as well as camping and Kayaking. He is also a fan of Green Bay Packers football and Atlanta Braves baseball.

Allison Smith

Office Manager

Allison was raised in Great Falls and married her fantastic husband, Jeff, in 2001. In 2011, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Sarah, to the world. Allison enjoys spending time with her dog, Gromit, family, and friends. She has various hobbies and enjoys anything to do with the outdoors.

Allison joined O'Connor & Schnider Funeral Homes as their new office manager in August 2024 with an extensive background in administration and finance.

Angie Fletcher

Administrative Assistant

Angie was born in Billings, Montana and is the oldest of four children. She graduated from C. M. Russell High School in 1988. She joined the Montana Air National Guard Medical Group right after high school, retiring in 2009 as the Non-Commissioned Officer of Medical Administration. She met her husband, Bob while he was playing with the Great Falls Dodgers in 1989. They were married in September of 1990 and are the proud parents of Eric and Alicia. Eric is third generation Montana Air National Guard following in his grandfather and mother’s footsteps. Alicia is a bank teller at Montana Credit Union in Great Falls.

Angie started working in office administration with us in 2011 at Schnider Funeral Home. She moved over to O’Connor Funeral Home in 2020. She has been instrumental in helping our families and funeral directors produce memorial products, obituaries, or anything else that may be required to attend to a family’s needs.

Giving back to the community, Bob and Angie have opened their home to Great Falls Voyagers baseball players for the past six seasons. They are active members of the Peace Lutheran Church.

Lesa Preston

Hospitality Room Hostess

Lesa was born in Boise, Idaho and raised in American Falls, Idaho. She moved to Great Falls in 1983 to marry the love of her life, John Preston. John and Lesa have been married over 40 years and they have nine children, five boys and four girls. Twenty-five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lesa worked at the Holistic Pain Relief Clinic for twenty-five years doing colon hydrotherapy. She retired and went to work for Schnider Funeral Home in 2019.

Lesa has been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of her life and has enjoyed being a volunteer at Peace Hospice for seven years.

Tierra Person

Funeral Home Assistant

Tierra Person was born in Libby, MT and raised in Plains, MT. She came to Great Falls in November of 2022 and joined the Schnider and O’Connor team shortly thereafter. She is an animal lover and an outdoors type of gal. She is also very creative. While she gathers experience with our funeral homes, she is seriously considering continuing her education to become a funeral director.

Creeanna Young

Transportation Assistant

Creeanna Laverdure Young was born and raised in Great Falls. She is attending college for welding and plans to begin her studies to become a funeral director once she completes her welding certificate.

She and her husband are always busy either with work, school, or all the sports her three children play. They are all big fans of baseball, softball, and roller derby. As a family they have also traveled all over the United States, with Cedar Point, OH being one of Creeanna’s favorite places. We are happy to have her as a part of our Schnider and O’Connor family and look forward to her becoming a funeral director.

Taylor Paul

Mortician Intern

Born and raised in Great Falls, Taylor has a deep sense of understanding and compassion for the members of our local community. She began to pursue her career as a funeral director in 2022 and is currently enrolled in the Mortuary Science Program at Arapahoe Community College. She will be graduating in the spring of 2025 and will complete her internship shortly after that.

In her free time, Taylor can be found reading or spending time outdoors with her husband, their family, and their dog. During the summer months, they can be found relaxing at the family cabin on Holter Lake or hiking the vast wilderness that Montana has to offer.
